We noticed Leopold’s as we were walking in Savannah one day, and since it was hot and we had some time, my mom and I stopped in for a scoop.  It was opened in 1919 and offers sandwiches, coffee and fountain drinks along with homemade ice cream and other desserts.  It maintains an old-fashioned feel, with old movie posters and a very family-friendly environment.  I considered a sundae, but we ultimately both went for single scoops.  The ice cream was great, and there are plenty of scrumptious flavors.  I think my mom got the butter pecan, and I got good old chocolate. It was busy but the staff was friendly and seemed to know how to efficiently deal with the crowd while still allowing tastes and not rushing anyone.  No complaints and delicious ice cream!
